Marshallia caespitosa Agastache forming a 3' tall specimenNative to prairies from Missouri south to Texas, Marshallia caespitosa can often be found hanging around with its buds, Schizachyrium scoparium and Coreopsis lanceolata. Marshallia, which got its name from the late Dr. Moses Marshall (1785 1813), is an easy to grow garden perennial that forms small green basal winter rosettes. In late spring, the narrow green, grass like clumps of Marshallia caespitosa are topped with 18" spikes that each terminate in
