Agua Nueva sometimes has fortification but is often a high contrast, well defined moss agate. It is relatively hard and solid and takes a mirror polish. Agua Nueva means "New Water" agate and is near where the Laguna Agate is mined on the Agua Nueva Ranch. It can occasionally have fractures but generally yields very workable slabs for cabs. Agua Nueva Agate is getting harder and harder to find,
