The parrot of Carolina and the cypress of America Finish:Single Anderloni delin et Sculp'Psitticus caroliniensis', the parrot of Carolina, perched on a branch of the cypress of America (Catesby's identifications; modern scientific names: Conuropsis carolinensis, the Carolina Parakeet; Taxodium distichum, the bald cypress). This bird species is now extinct, the last specimen having died in captivity in 1918.
