Two sides of the lid have been re-glued

and perhaps a few tiny chips in the mosaic tile

shows some of the original paint still hanging on where it would least have been handled--a wonderful yellow on the top of the rockers

Silver Painted Old STRING Tin (with twine inside) large sculpture Two sides of the lidI'm not quite sure when this tin was painted silver and labeled with tall thin hand painted white letters reading "string," but it looks as if a good many years ago, and certainly seems product of a great depression sensibility, when string saving became a habit. The paper label still stretched across the bottom of the tin suggests it's quite an old one, I believe a tobacco tin. Found in Maine, with twine and a pencil inside, as seems just right. A
