Description
some paint/text loss primarily on two of them
Each frame measures 6" tall x 7 1/2" wide x 1 1/2" deep
I've had a number of British earlyish 19th century penmanship practice notebooks in the shop but this is the first American one
This super folky painting is in far from from perfect shape
Basket of Strawberries Painting on Tin in Grain Painted Frame fashion some paint/text loss primarily onSummer may be nearly over, but dreams of a basket of freshly picked strawberries never cease, and I love the super graphic pop of this painting. It was done on tin, painted on very smooth, flat black the ground. The subject and manner of the painting, and the frame in which it appears to have lived for quite some time, make me think late 19th c., though in remarkably good condition, with just a very little bit of craquelure and light surface
