19th C Red Lacquered Snuff Box with Portrait of Lady classical drawing The neck of the rabbitI have a weakness for snuff boxes of all sorts and boxes of all sorts really! and really like the printed image of this woman against crimson, which to my eye lends her a bit of mystery and perhaps even scandalousness. I believe this one, lacquered papier mache, dates to the 1840s or so. 2 13 16 d x 3 4 t and in good condition overall, with a small edge chip to the lid and a bit of surface wear, as evident.
