Old Carved Figure with Tall Cap and Wonderful Profile spotted dog which strikes me every timeA wonderful and very expressive carved figure I think, who I take for a man of the woods in many senses! Theres quite a primitive elegance to him I think, and a bit of surface splitting that makes it appear even as if hes got a cloak drawn around him which to me makes also makes him feel a bit French! (From one angle, with face in profile, he actually reminds me a bit of Punch from Punch and Judy, and also a bit of Napolean!) Fantastic dry wood
