The overall impression of refinement is enhanced by the notably fine grain of the tannins and this is really lovely

spicy and quite long

There is enough reduction to dominate the fruit though it clearly seems ripe

The wine is refined

Chateau Marsannay, Chambertin Vintage:2018 The overall impression of refinement(from a . 09 ha parcel). Very generous wood and menthol elements are borderline invasive on the liqueur like aromas of baked plum, warm earth and underbrush scented nose. There is good density and excellent minerality to the attractively vibrant broad shouldered flavors where a touch of mocha surfaces on the reasonably persistent finish. This needs to develop more depth but that should be possible given the tannic spine shaping this wine.
