Sir Joseph W Bazalgette mb-width 5359 depicting the wall as it'Sir Joseph W Bazalgette', 1863. Portrait of the famous civil engineer Joseph Bazalgette who designed the London sewage system, completed in 1875, and the Thames Embankment. He has a moustache and abundant side whiskers, and is shown holding papers relating to the Thames Embankment.
