Very ripe aromas include those of mocha

refined and beautifully detailed middle weight flavors are not especially dense though there is enough sap to buffer the moderately firm supporting tannins on the balanced finish

mocha and candied licorice flavors show superb depth and clarity while hints of floral pastilles and Moroccan spices add complexity

Lucien Le Moine Vintage:2019 (from Francemont)(from Chanlins). A cooler and more elegant if not quite as spicy nose that blends wisps of red and dark raspberry with a lovely array of floral elements and in particular, violet. Once again the mouthfeel of the slightly bigger flavors is sleek and refined with evident minerality suffusing the bitter cherry pit inflected finale. This is powerful yet graceful and like the Santenots, a wine that should age gracefully over the next 12 to 15 years.
