'The Banksia Serrata in Flower' Clerk to the Privy Council Charles II was the RoyalBotanical study of Banksia serrata, a shrub native to Australia and first collected by Sir Joseph Banks. Plate 19 from Journal of a voyage to New South Wales by John White (J. Debrett, London, 1790). The accompanying text states that: 'A very large cylindrical spike of flowers terminates each branch.
