A round silver medal; the obverse inscribed VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT (German Merit for the State) within an open ended laurel wreath that is tied together a the base by a ribbon; the reverse inscribed with the crowned royal monogram of Friedrich Wilhelm; on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon; measuring 39. 46 mm in diameter; weighing 22. 7 grams; in overall near extremely fine condition.
