Instituted 10 March 1911 by Duke Carl Eduard. (1914 1935 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with 1914 sword clasp, the obverse bearing a raised rightward facing profile of Duke Carl Eduard, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central Saxe Coburg & Gotha coat of arm, flanked by lions rampant, topped by an inscription of FUER VERDIENSTE
