Large German Resin Amber Bead shells Dutch made in the 1700sUnusual German resin amber bead, drilled two ways. One large 27mm diameter x 24mm thick, with 2mm hole. Approximately 100 years old, found in Mauritania and Niger. This is an imitation amber, (like Bakelite) made from plant resin in Germany in the early 1900's and traded in West Africa. A wonderful focal bead element.
